ARTISTS
When not writing for film and tv, Chad Fischer is producing
and songwriting.
Here are some of the highlights.

Alexi Murdoch
Four Songs
In early 2002, Chad went down to see Alexi perform a set at Gengis Cohen. Soon they were cooped up in Lookout Sound recording what would become a national phenomenon. With heavy rotaion on LA's KCRW, among others, CDBaby claimed it was their top selling CD for 2003!

Andrew Prieboy
Sins Of Our Fathers
Back in 1995, former Wall of Voodoo lead singer Andrew Prieboy had the then young Chad Fischer produce, engineer, and mix his second solo album, Sins Of Our Fathers (Mushroom Records), complete with epic Napolionic battle scene on the cover where muskets are replaced by guitars. Prieboy, who went on to pen the cult classic musical, White Trash Wins Lotto, about the rise and fall of Axle Rose, had a huge impact on Chad and how he now approaches working with "the ultra gifted genius." Andrew Priebow has become a critically acclaimed author - check out his new book!

Colin Hay
Company of Strangers
After hiring Chad Fischer to play on his albums, Topanga and Transcendental Highway, Colin found himself at Lookout Sound recording (and even doing some co-writing: No Win Situation, How Long Will It Last) with Chad Fischer for many of the songs on Company of Strangers. By the way, if you happened to catch Colin at the Calgary Stampede or opening for Journey in Dayton Ohio, that's Chad burning up to 2000 calories behind the drum kit.

Josh Clayton-Felt
Spirit Touches Ground
Just over a month before his untimely departure from this world, and after two previous versions on A&M Records, Josh Clayton-Felt finally finished tracking and mixing this masterpiece with old friend Chad Fischer at Lookout Sound. Working with Josh helped Chad fine tune the art of recording and mixing around a singer/songwriter's voice in order to emphasize the sincerity and spirit which lies in the artists voice.

Josh Freese
I know what your thinking - another Josh!? Yup. Arguably one of most highly regarded session and performance drummers of our time, Josh Freese, after playing drums on a couple of Lazlo Bane tracks for their first album, 11 Transistor, decided to come back to Lookout Sound to track demos that would soon become masters for his debut solo CD, The Notorius One Man Orgy.

Larry Goldings
Long Story Short
Larry Goldings, considered by many to be one of today's premier jazz organists, pianists and composers, came to Lookout Sound on and off over the last couple of years to have Chad Fischer produce one of his most eclectic and emotional albums to date. The experimental CD, a bit of a departure from his more standard organ trio albums, captures some of Larry's most intimate improvisational piano performances (Improvisational #2) as well as a few inspired ambient tracks (Foot, Northeast Direct) which combine Larry's ethereal playing with Chad's hypnotic rhythmic backdrops.

Lazlo Bane
Chad Fischer fronted and produced L.A. based pop-rockers Lazlo Bane (that's him on the right) starting with their debut in 1997 with "11 Transistor" (Almo Sounds) and a cover of Men At Work's "Overkill." The video, with a cameo from Men At Work's Colin Hay, became a favorite on MTV2. Their second studio effort, also produced by Chad at Lookout Sound, contains, Superman, which would later become the theme song to Scrubs along with a video directed by Scrubs star, Zach Braff.

Lisa Loeb
One time band mate, Lisa Loeb, (Chad played drums with her in the early 90's before joining School of Fish) came into Lookout Sound while working on material for 2003's Hello Lisa (Artemis Records). What they came up with was the final album popper "Take Me Back." Subsequently, Lisa returned to Lookout Sound to have Chad produce a few more tracks (Accident, Will You Wander, and I Control The Sun) for her new album, The Way It Really Is, due out August 14th.
